INTRODUCTION
The Revive Co-hort program is designed to provide educational and real world experience both in office and in the field in the areas of self-therapy, wilderness adventure, medical first aid response, marketing, and various corporate business arenas. Our Co-horts are dedicated to giving back to our nations Heroes, and evolving their knowledge and education in the vast sea of the business universe.
What is the business of Revive? Through corporate donation packages, fundraising, and other efforts, we provide wilderness adventures and expeditions in pursuit of providing executives relief from brain fog and burnout. In return we take 50% of those donations and provide a Hero Scholarship to Veterans and First Responders (Heroes) who are seeking to emerge back into life and evolve past their trauma.
A CLOSER LOOK
How does Revive accomplish supporting our Heroes in evolving past their trauma, and executives gaining a clearer perspective? We utilize the power of the nature, challenges, the ideology of disconnecting, and immersing among others who have the same goal, perspective, understanding, and longing to support.
Wilderness adventure therapy is a form of psychotherapy involving challenging and inspiring outdoor activities.
Through many research studies over the last 20 years it has proven to be a powerful tool for veterans, first responders, and executives struggling with various mental health challenges. This approach leverages the natural environment to promote healing, resilience, and a sense of empowerment.
Challenging Activities: Outdoor activities like hiking, rock climbing, kayaking, skydiving, para-motoring, and camping can help those face challenges and overcome fears in a controlled and supportive environment. This can mirror the challenges they faced in the military or the corporate office, allowing them to process and reframe their experiences.
Stress Reduction: Spending time in nature has been shown to reduce stress and anxiety, both of which are common symptoms of mental health challenges. The physical exertion and connection with the natural world can help regulate the body's stress response.
Building Resilience: Adventure therapy can help develop resilience by teaching coping mechanisms, problem-solving skills, and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances. These skills can be invaluable in managing the challenges associated with mental health, brain fog and burnout in the participants surrounding environment.
Improved Self-Esteem: Successfully completing challenging outdoor activities can boost their self-esteem and confidence. This can be particularly helpful for those who may feel overwhelmed or inadequate after their military service or those experiencing burnout or brain fog in their office environment.
Social Connection: Adventure therapy often involves group activities, providing them with opportunities to connect with others who share similar experiences and challenges. This social support can be crucial for healing and preventing feelings of isolation which has shown leads to suicidal ideations.
Mindfulness and Present-Moment Focus: Outdoor activities can help the participants focus on the present moment, reducing rumination on past traumas or struggles. Mindfulness techniques, such as paying attention to the senses and the natural environment, can be incorporated into these sessions.
Professional Services: Providing a direct line to mental health professionals via remote conferencing or in person allows them to help reflect and process the days experience and challenges. Each Hero and Executive has a built in 1 hour session each day to accomplish this. Participants may also have access to other professionals in the areas of yoga, meditation, massage, hypnotherapy, and reiki depending on location and availability.
By providing a safe and supportive environment for veterans and executives to confront their fears, build resilience, and develop healthy coping mechanisms, adventure therapy can be a valuable tool in the treatment of mental health challenges, brain fog, and burnout.
PROGRAM
Our Co-hort program begins with the volunteer submitting their application and minimum 10k word or 5 min video essay of why they feel they should be given the opportunity to work for Revive, why they want the challenge of evolving into a business professional, and most importantly why it is important for them to give back to a mission bigger than themselves by helping our nations Heroes.
Stage 1
Once accepted into the program a Co-hort will undergo a federal and state background check. Once cleared, they begin the process of obtaining their basic first aid & CPR, and FEMA certifications 100, 200, 300, & 400. This stage is vital to making sure all Co-horts have the proper education and certifications for wilderness outdoor adventures.
Stage 2
Once stage 1 is complete Co-horts will begin an office position, first learning the policies and procedures of Revive. The Co-hort will then spend the next four months working in administration, budgeting, marketing, and building business to business relationships. Additionally, the Co-hort will learn wilderness and guidance skills to help support our expeditions and wilderness adventures. After the first four months the Co-hort will be given the opportunity to take a field position if available or stay in office.
Stage 3
After six months with Revive, the Co-hort will stand alone to create a project or program that enhances the mission of Revive by using the experience and knowledge they learned in stage 2. This begins with the Co-hort drafting three separate ideas that will be brought in front of the board for a vote. Once an idea is voted on, the Co-hort is given a board member mentor for support, guidance, and oversight. They will then take the draft and finalize it with a functional budget to manage any overhead and production.
Stage 4
The Co-hort will then implement the project or program using their mentors guidance, experience, and knowledge they have gained. The program or project will run for five months at which time the Co-hort will monitor return, success, and ease of implementation. They will then submit reports that reflect those areas to the board.
Stage 5
The Co-hort will then spend the next month supporting and inducing new Co-horts into the program while the board reviews the reports for the program or project that was submitted. The board will then vote to directly hire, provide an additional opportunity, or a professional reference for the Co-hort. All Co-horts receive one of the three.
Upon entrance or exit the Co-hort is asked to provide feedback and suggestions on evolving the program for the betterment of the Co-horts and success of the program.
